Rebuilding Our Economy

Dick Muri believes that people create jobs, not government. He wants to reduce the bureaucracy in the federal government and put an end to job-killing regulations so that America’s private sector can flourish once again.

As a Pierce County Councilman, Muri has worked with both Democrats and Republicans to pass many ordinances and resolutions to create jobs in Pierce County.  Together these changes allowed the county to create hundreds of jobs and build roads when costs were at near record lows – a triumph for job creation and sound budgeting.  All this was achieved without raising taxes.

As our next congressman, Dick will again reach across the aisle to work with Democrats and his fellow Republicans to repair and expand America’s failing infrastructure system, creating jobs today and improving the economy for the future.

During the worst recession of our lives the Obama administration has adopted nearly 30,000 pages of job killing rules and regulations; most with few, if any, benefits to worker safety or the environment.  Dick will join with pro-job Democrats to require all federal rules meet a basic cost-benefit-analysis to ensure that we’re protecting workers and the environment without destroying family wage jobs.

Muri supports new rules to ensure that no bank becomes “too big to fail” and he has pledged to reject all campaign contributions from Wall Street.
